In the last ten years, it became a golden standard when it comes to filling the face wrinkles. The most important reasons for the great popularity of fillers are their compatibility, biological degradation in the skin and ease of use.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid molecules are present in the extracellular area of our skin. Hyaluronic acid is by composition polysaccharide, which means it attracts water and increases the tissue volume. The contents of hyaluronic acid gradually decreases in the skin over years, which results in the appearance of wrinkles along with the loss of the connective tissue volume.

Treatment objective:

Hyaluronic fillers are most often used for filling already formed wrinkles for obtaining rejuvenation effects, although they are also used in younger people to prevent the formation of wrinkles.
Dermal hyaluronic fillers fill the wrinkles and revitalize the face. The short procedure duration, safety of the effects and the directly visible results are the main advantages of this treatment. Hyaluronic fillers are intended for treatment of all facial areas, as well as for rejuvenation of hands, neck and cleavage. They are injected into the skin to fill the wrinkles, achieve facial rehydration and to restore the lost volume. It has also been proven that fillers affect regeneration and the creation of new collagen and elastin in the skin. The most important thing to note is that hyaluronic fillers ensure the achievement and maintenance of the natural look of facial contours. By treating certain parts of the face with special techniques, the effect of a non-surgical lifting is achieved.

Which parts of the skin can be treated with hyaluronic fillers?

  • nasolabial lines (lines from the nose to the lips)
  • Marionette lines (lines from the lips toward the chin)
  • wrinkles between the eyebrows
  • smoking wrinkles (around the lips)
  • wrinkles near the eyes
  • lip enlargement
  • contouring and refreshing lip edges
  • raising lip angles
  • raising cheekbones
  • beard design
  • non-surgical nose correction
  • dark circles under eyes
  • scars, especially acne scars
  • hands, neckline and cleavage rejuvenation

When can hyaluronic fillers treatment be started?

Treatments with hyaluronic fillers can begin when first pronounced wrinkles are noticed, which in some persons appear at younger age (at the end of the twenties), and in some people later on, which genetics and lifestyle mostly account for (smoking, sleep and rest, stress). From the emergence of the first wrinkles onwards, the hyaluronic fillers can be supplemented every year, in order to keep the fresh look as long as possible and maintain good facial contours.
The filler lasts 6 months to 2 years, depending on the density. After each next treatment, the effect of hyaluronic fillers is longer lasting.

What does the procedure look like?

If a patient uses facial makeup, it must be removed before the treatment. Aesthetic cream is then applied to make the entire procedure completely painless. After 15 minutes the anaesthetic is removed, the region being treated is cleared, and the dermal filler application can be initiated.

The treatment is performed at “Colić” Hospital. After talking to the patient, in view of achieving the desired effect, the doctor chooses the appropriate density of the hyaluronic filler to be applied.. After the above preparation, the filler is injected into the desired area by using small, thin needles. The treatment itself depends on the region being treated and the amount of the filler to be applied, about 30 minutes.

After the treatment:

After the procedure, the patient is immediately ready to resume his/her daily activities. Mild redness, bruising or swelling may appear in the treated region. Redness disappears usually several hours after the intervention, while the swelling and bruise usually disappear in a few days.
The change is visible immediately after the treatment, while it takes about 2 weeks to obtain a full effect.
* Treatment with hyaluronic fillers is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
